Finally starting to get organized. I actually straightened out my Etsy Shop which was long overdue. I am working on what I consider, one of my best paintings. Hopefully it should be done by the end of the day. I have a show in Ogunquit ME on August 26Th and then a big show in NYC. Washington Square, Art In The Village. It's their 80Th year! It's hard to believe that when my mother was just born, a few artist started this show. I am really looking forward to it on Sept. 11 and 12Th.

Letting Go
In between my more serious and epic paintings I enjoy throwing in a whimsical, care free piece here and there. It gives me a chance to experiment with color, pattern and texture plus I saw a Matisse painting (not in person) this morning that put me over the edge. I just love peonies and every year I say I am going to buy some to plant in my garden but I am always too busy painting and forget. This little number is 9x12 and done on stretched textured linen. The sides have been painted so no frame is needed. For sale in my Etsy shop. Stop by on Saturday, July 24th to see this painting and the rest of my new work at MANCHESTER BY THE SEA ART FESTIVAL. It's going to be really hot~both the show and the weather!

Commission for Renee
This is a ( not so good) image of the commission painting I completed this past week. I felt so much anxiety handing this precious package over to the UPS person to ship. . I pictured the box with fragile stickers all over it getting tossed around and some how damaged in route to it's destination! I wasn't using the power of positive thinking here, as my husband preaches to me. Anyway, it did arrive safely and it is being enjoyed by a lovely family now.

Sailing Away
Well, this will probably be my last new painting until mid July. My son Sam will be home from his residential school for the next 10 days and it's all hands on deck. This new painting is appropriately titled. I love how it came together with all the details. It is 9x12 done on stretched cotton and linen. I will be announcing my July Giveaway either this afternoon or tomorrow. Please check back. I have also completed a large commission painting that I will post an image of on this blog as soon as my client receives it. She should be the first to see it. For sale in my Etsy shop.
