Living In The Moment

Tomorrow I will be posting my last painting for a while.  Every year my son Sam, who has autism,  is home for 10 day and it's all hands on deck.  I'll be lucky if I can check my email!  I will miss being in my studio but time with Sam is special.  You can't help but live in the moment.  I am very excited about the work I will be creating in 2012. I will be making some exciting changes to my Etsy shop as well.

Isabella Plays The Mandolin

I love the sight and sound of the mandolin.  Here is Isabella from Florence Italy.  Her father, a wealthy silk merchant, has arranged for her to marry Phillip - whom she does not love. No, I haven't been breathing in too much paint.  Have a beautiful weekend.  Catherine

Sneak Peak of my newest painting.

I thought I was going to be finished with this painting today but between trips to the post office and Staples, it just didn't happen.  It's 16x20 in size.  Not sure of the title yet either.  See you tomorrow.

Staying In~Original Painting

I tried to finish this piece before it got too dark outside so I could take a good photo. I managed to finish in time buts since it's a gray rainy day, it's just too dark to get a good shot but here is the" low light version."  I'll re shoot tomorrow in better conditions.
Our little kitty Leonardo is trying to get outside any chance he gets but we have decided for his own safety  that he can't be an outside cat. We will bring the outside to him !  This painting is 14x11 painted on stretched canvas.

The Artist's Interior

No this isn't what my house looks like.  I am afraid you would be disappointed if I actually painted  a room in it!  There are no lovely birds waking about or oriental rugs with large vases of beautiful flowers.   Actually I do have some nice vases but the flowers  in  them have seen better days, my rugs are sprinkled with yellow lab and tiger kitten hairs, and you will also find Leo popping his head out of my kitchen sink full of dishes! yikes!       Honestly,   I wouldn't want it any other way.
I am really glad I was able to finish this painting today.  It is 20x16 painted on stretched canvas.  For sale in my Etsy shop www.catherine47.etsy.com
