Queen Of Hearts

Every time I see a deck of cards, it reminds me of being 10 years old, playing Slap Jack or Crazy Eights on a towel at Seabrook beach. Instead of paying attention to the cards I was dealt, I was busy looking at the intricate designs of the King, Jack and Queen. Some cards are quite beautiful.

This is my newest painting done with acrylic paints on stretched cotton. The Queen of hearts stands 8x10. Available for sale in my Etsy shop.

Chinoiserie Style

I am so excited about my new painting and my new love, "Chinoiserie."

Chinoiserie, a French term, signifying "Chinese-esque", refers to a recurring theme in European artistic styles since the seventeenth century, which reflect Chinese artistic influences.^[1] It is characterized by the use of fanciful imagery of an imaginary China, by asymmetry in format and whimsical contrasts of scale, and by the attempts to imitate Chinese porcelain and the use of lacquerlike materials and decoration.

This painting stands 8x10 and the sides have been painted so no frame is needed unless wanted. It is for sale in my Etsy shop. SOLD

Miss Coral 's Garden

Here is my second whimsical pattern painting. Coral doesn't represent anyone I know personally, but I imagine that if you found someone sitting in a chair under the sea, this is probably what she would look like~ This piece is 11x14 done with acrylics on stretched cotton.
