Hello Out There.

I can't remember where, but I came across an image of this girl under her umbrella. I knew it would work into a painting at some point. Then this past weekend a conservation came up at dinner with one of my sisters about our 30 something nieces and nephews, and how young people are getting married later in life.
BTW the Jewelry store in the background is Dorfmans on Newbury Street in Boston.
This painting is 11x14 done with acrylics on stretched cotton. It is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Chinoiserie Style

I am so excited about my new painting and my new love, "Chinoiserie."

Chinoiserie, a French term, signifying "Chinese-esque", refers to a recurring theme in European artistic styles since the seventeenth century, which reflect Chinese artistic influences.[1] It is characterized by the use of fanciful imagery of an imaginary China, by asymmetry in format and whimsical contrasts of scale, and by the attempts to imitate Chinese porcelain and the use of lacquerlike materials and decoration.

This painting stands 8x10 and the sides have been painted so no frame is needed unless wanted. It is for sale in my Etsy shop. SOLD
