Still Life Auricula

The beautiful weather this week so far has inspired me although I must admit I haven 't  been out much except to walk Abbey and go to the post office!  These flowers are truly amazing with  so many varieties and colors.  Enjoy the Indian summer.

Madeline Dreams of a more simplistic life.

The painting within my paintings was taken from a black and white photo I came across on one of the millions of blogs I peruse daily.  I wish I had bookmarked the site so I could tell you more.  I just liked the way she looked and of course her lovely contrasting dress.  I believe that is called pasymetry?  Anyway, as I began to paint this piece I decided to loosen up my brush strokes and create a more painterly look.  This painting is 16x20 painted on stretched canvas and will be accompanying me to South Portland this Saturday.  I will be for sale in my Etsys Shop until then.

Garden Bouquet

I am very excited about my new painting.  I was very much inspired by the Dutch painter of the late 1500’s  Ambrosius Bosschaert.  Absolutely breath taking still lifes.   I don’t usually do traditional compositions but I really enjoyed painting this vase with flowers.  I may do a few more.  This painting is 11x14 painted on stretched canvas.   The sides have been painted so no frame is needed.

Hello It's Me.

I have wanted to do a painting that included an old phone.  I don't even have a land line anymore but I love the look of phones especially black ones.  I decided to include the parrot since the theme here is communication.  This piece has a some what dark but rich feeling to it.  I seem to be going down that road lately with color.  8x10 painted on stretched cotton.

Partridge on an Orange Bench

This is my newest painting.  When I was in Sicily a year ago, my sisters and I were very lost down a old dirt road.  I actually saw a partridge just like this one in  a yard under an orange tree.  What a beautiful site.  this painting is 11x14 done on stretched cotton and linen.  the sides have been painted so no frame is needed.

Hellebore Love

A single hellebore. These flowers are so gorgeous. My new favorite. A few interesting facts: They are an easy to grow perennial, drought tolerant and deer resistant. This painting of a single hellebore is 8x10 done on stretched cotton and linen with acrylic paints. For sale in my Etsy shop.

Tuscan Pears

This painting is 16x20. I have painted many pedestal bowls full of fruit especially pears. This piece would look great in a kitchen or dining room.
