I wish I owned this white couch and the pillow too. This is my newest painting. It has a little bit for everyone! Oceans, earth, stars, birds, telescopes and an interior scene. I have been drawn to more muted earth tones lately. This could be a holding pattern. This painting is 11x14 for sale in my Etsy shop.

This is the first in a series of painting I am hoping to do over the next few weeks before the start of my summer art show season. This is my sister Rosalie. She is the second oldest of my FIVE sisters. Here she is in her element.

Eleanor Lives In A Dream
OK I guess I have Easter on my mind. See the bunny ? Not to mention the spring colors I used here despite the damp cold weather the past few days. This is my new painting. I was listening to a Beatles album when I got the idea for this painting. I am always struck by the creative lyrics. I should have painted "a face in a jar by the door." Too late. Anyway, this work is 11x14 painted on canvas . For sale in my Etsy shop.

Free Bird
This is my newest abstract painting. For me, birds have such wonderful shape and form. I love painting patterns all over them. It was difficult to get a good cropped shot of the entire border. This piece really needs to be seen to fully appreciate all the detail. Red is the color of the day. 16x20 painted on stretched canvas. The sides have been painted so no frame is needed.

Moonlight Sonata
Friday has become a day for posting new work. As my painting technique evolves, I find myself spending more and more time on each piece I do. I have been very fixed on surface texture and getting it just right. I am very pleased with this new painting. I found a photograph which showed what Beethoven's room might have looked like. The piano is actually accurate but of course his room didn't have quite as much going on as this one. I have combined all the elements I love. Music, interiors, birds, interesting colors and patterns that have movement. This painting is 11x14. The sides have been painted so no frame is needed but should have one!

Dear Saint Anthony Please come around................
I came across this great photo of Matisse on the Art Project site. This is just one of many wonderful pictures. My week has started out very slow. I feel a bit like Henri. I misplaced some very important papers and that was all I needed to throw me off track. I have been instructed to pray to Saint Anthony by my mother but so far the documents have not surfaced. Today is the day that I am going to paint no matter what. I will be starting a piece involving a music theme. I have been listening to the most glorious piano and cello music which brings me to tears. As I listen I see my whole life before me, as though it was a music video. Maybe I should pray to Saint Henri.

Interior With St. Francis
Friday and it's finished. A bit about St. franics.
On July 16, 1228, he was pronounced a saint by Pope Gregory IX. He is known as the patron saint of animals, the environment and one of the two patrons of Italy (with Catherine of Siena), and it is customary for Catholic and Anglican churches to hold ceremonies blessing animals on his feast day of 4 October.I have painted two or three pieces involving Saint Francis. I feel especially connected to this Saint as many do. My mother, now 82, is not only a devote Catholic but a member of the Franciscan order. My son Samuel’s school happens to be on the grounds of the St. Francis Seminary and was originally a meeting house/sanctuary belonging to the seminary. The actual seminary, with its lovely grounds and grotto, is still next to his school and has just recently closed. I always feel a sense of peace as I drive down the school's driveway as though I am on holy ground and feel a sense that he is especially protected.
Catherine.
