Matisse's Room

By now you must know I love Matisse. A lot of people do. The colors, the interiors, the scenes. It's obviously more than that but I d rather stop there.

I spent an overnight with my FIVE sisters. It was a quite interesting, and inspiring 24 hours. Being the youngest, and the oldest 60 years young, I have been exposed to wisdom well beyond my years on a regular basis. That can be a good thing and a bad thing.
I feel like the woman in this painting. I think too much. I tend to over analyze everything to the point of exhaustion. I could go on and on about this. I probably will. For now, this painting was created in 2007. It was 11x14. It has sold but I get many requests for reproductions.

Clementines

Both Zach and Max can eat a crate of clementines. It's that time of year. Holidays have always been so difficult for us. It's hard to say how thanksgiving will be. This was last year. Time sure does fly. The painting on the left is 18x20. It's one of my favorites.

Picatso III

This is my third variation on Picatso. The first one was bought this past summer in Beacon Hill by a sweet gentleman who gave free lectures at the MFA. The second one by another Beacon Hill resident. This latest version is quite different. I also tried out some new paints that took me some time to get use to.
Today was a real regrouping day for me. Working at home, painting at home, makes it difficult to stay on task. I find myself doing a million things before i get to my painting . I tend to loose my drive, creativity when i don't get right to it.
This piece is 16x20 . I still love cats even though i have a yellow lab that scared our tiger cat Barney away 8 years ago. My kids still think they see Barney living a few streets over. Maybe.

Provence

This whole blog thing is totally trial and error for me. I have five sisters and we laugh a lot about our in ability to figure out anything computer related. Some how it seems to be working out ok.

My son Sam is about to crash through the door for a home visit. I miss him so much but sometimes after a few hours I realize we have made the right decision in living at the school. I am able to paint, he is pretty happy. My mind has become uncluttered from what to do to help, cure Sam to how to improve my art, promote it and reconnect with my husband and two other sons. I love the blue in this small 8x10 painting. It's sort of Van Gogh meets Cezanne.

Double Act

Matisse has always been one of my favorites. I love the colors and the patterns and subject matter.

I have just completed 6 new paintings. I am ready to get back to work and try some new things now. This piece is 8x10 on stretched cotton/linen.
