My newest piece is now available Pastime Paradise. It's 16x20 painted with oils on a cradled wood panel with painted sides. For me this painting has a magically quality that I so love. The mystery and theatrics I so enjoy along with nature and classical themes.

The Libra
I am finally putting the finishing touches on my new piece. There were many twists and turns before I arrived here. It's sort of a self portrait. I enjoy lots of symbolism and interiors give me that stage. This is a big piece for me oils of 24x30 on stretched canvas.
Thanks for looking

Today's update
Today has been a gloomy day working in the studio. It's a good thing I can add color to my world anytime and change all that. I am really looking forward to painting a lovely floral arrangement on that table ! A bird is coming as well as a second kitty. This piece is about October and Libras. Much more to come. 24x30 on canvas.

What I'm working on
One of the things I am enjoying about oil painting is that you can work on several pieces at once. I'm working on a custom piece but at the same time I am completing this 14x18 painting as well. I like pacing myself and going from one to another. When I work in acrylics, I tend to complete one painting at a time since they dry so quickly. This painting is a collage of sorts bringing together images I am inspired by.

On my easel
I've begun working on a 14x18 wood panel in oils. I have really embraced oils over the past 3 or 4 months. It forces me to pace myself and also work on several pieces at one time since layers have to dry.

Portrait Of Joan - new work
SOLD Completed on 7-11-2018 I wanted to create an icon like painting this time. Honestly when I started out I didn't know who she would be but had a certain look I wanted. I came across images of Joan Of Arc and knowing a little about her story I thought she would be perfect especially at this time. This pieces can mean many things.
Painting is a way of consoling my heart and I am so grateful to have this time.
Thanks for looking.

T.G.I.M.
I am a Thank God It's Monday person.
This is the time of year that I have to slow things down, with my art that is. It's a time to work on some commission pieces I have due, but also forces me to take a vacation. Vacation time is more stressful- if that makes any sense. I love working so much and I actually feel a bit sad to have to break away. My husband works really hard and deserves any time off he gets. I work really hard as well, but it's different when you are creating things, mixing colors and patterns -excited about the whole process from start to finish. what might be!
July is also a reflective month for me. My mother had a stroke at the end of January. 90 years old mother of seven ranging in age from 70 to 50. She has bounced back in many ways and has had some ups and downs over the past 6 months. I am amazed at what the body can endure. She is somewhat stable now but a part of her is gone. It's pretty difficult to accept the changes or even the fact that she may not be here much longer. I am really trying to see her in a positive light at this moment, right here/ right now and not dwell on how it use to be. It's hard to do, but the other way is a waste of precious time. One of the many lessons I've learned from Sam.

The Language Of Flowers
My newest painting "The Language Of Flowers" is 18x14 oil/ acrylic on canvas. I have neglected our lovely backyard full of wonderful perennials for far too long ! Obviously I would rather paint them rather than weed them but it's time . Before I do though, I wanted to share this still life which I have done in a more painterly, impressionistic manner. What I'm working on
Pretty excited about this new piece I am working on. Many twists and turns to come but loving the color combinations and composition so far. We spent the weekend at my son Max's in Maine and finally got to see his studio in Belfast. It's such a quaint area on the water about 3.5 hours from Boston. I am fortunate that both of my sons inspire me! Actually all three do, Sam more than I know.

What I'm working on
It's been a challenging few months to say the least. I'm finally getting back into the studio more consistently. My mother had a stroke at the end of January and it's been all hands on deck. She is more stable now and doing well after three moves and a lot of support. I am grateful to be one of her 7 children sharing in her care. This week is my first real work week. I started a few pieces late in January which I am slowly picking back up. Happy to be doing what I love again ! This piece is 16x12 You may recognize this composition from a favorite artist of mine!

Blue Heron Still Life- new work
Completed on 1-24-2018 Driving around with Sam the other day a magnificent Blue Heron swooped down in front of my car. I always consider unusual animal encounters some sort of sign. I like to think it means someone is watching out for us all. Just a reminder . Anyway, that's the idea for this painting. Yes Blue Herons can live near the ocean and fresh water. I am working on a series of smaller paintings for now. Thanks for looking!

A few of my images were used in a Christmas service L.A. !
The art director from a Unitarian Church in Los Angeles contacted me a few months ago about showing my images as a backdrop to their Christmas service . He sent me this shot which was before the service began. I felt honored my work was selected.
