The Lost Garden was completed on 4-11. The inspiration for this painting started from some old books on renaissance art that I cherish. I saw an image of a pope with a lovely tall hat/ head adornment which then became the top of my gazebo. I have loved the lush greens of Henri Rousseau and of course old vintage botanicals. The symbolism in old paintings I find very beautiful, like a visual poem. The swallow references, red coral and particular flowers all have meaning. This pieces is 16x20 painted on cradled birch wood with painted sides. Thank you for stopping by.
