Lover's Eye~New painting by Catherine Nolin

I continue to be drawn to a sort of Renaissance type style.  I suppose maybe because of the rich colors, the drama  and spirituality aspect.  In my painting the woman is holding a lover's eye locket.  They were popular fashion statements in the late 18th century.  This painting is 14x11 painted on a cradled birch wood panel.  The sides have been painted to match.
