The picture isn't always what it seems...

  I have been spending  a lot of time on this new piece and it looks like I will be wrapping it up on Monday now.    I try not to work on the weekends,  especially when the weather  is so amazing and  life is happening all around me,  but I just can't stop thinking about this piece! !  It is evolving into something very different then what it started out as, which is fine by me.  This is one of those paintings that has it's own agenda if you will. (By the way it's 16x20) There is still some interesting twists  yet to happen.   Stay tuned.

Where Are you Going? New Painting

Happy Friday! "Where Are You Going?"  just completed this morning.  Don't you just love dachshund dogs?  They are a favorite breed of many artists and poets.  My little Theo made his way into the draw as well.  Swallows are a symbol of hope and care so I love to paint them.  This piece is 12x16 created on a cradled wood panel.  I especially love the colors and highlights.    On another note thought I'd share "Where I am going tomorrow"-  my oldest son is getting married in the fall and tomorrow is the bridal shower so I am happy to be finishing up early today! Have a wonderful weekend.

Hollywood Glamour- new painting now available

  Completed on 6-2 Hollywood Glamour. When ever I see this breed of dog I think Hollywood. Some grand dame would have an Afghan dog well groomed walking down Rodeo Drive! I actually did a commission a few years ago of two Afghan dogs for a client from New York City. This was a fun piece to create. It's 16x12 with painted sides. Galileo's Atelier - New Painting

Happy Memorial Day 2016.  Since the day was cold and gloomy I decided to finish my painting. I was at my sisters house in Cape Elizabeth Maine recently  and viewed the full moon through a super high resolution /definition telescope which was pretty amazing.  I can't think too much about the universe, it is just too mind blowing to complement, right? Anyway,  Galileo's Atelier is 14x18 created on a cradled wooden panel with painted sides. I'd like to think Galileo had owls and raccoons and kitty 's in his work space!

The Curious Cat- New Painting 18x24

SOLD  Completed on 5-17.  Ok NOW  you really know I love cats.  This is the first time I've painted a tiger.  What amazing creatures they are.  Their tails are so fun! This painting is 18x24 created on a cradled wood panel with painted sides.  Again, cradled wood panels can also be framed or hung as is.  This painting has an interesting energy about it.   Perhaps the jewel tones or the curious objects.

Inner Light- New painting

Inner Light is my latest work.  I decided to piece together some images that I love to paint which reflect Renaissance art as well as spirituality. The poodle is just fun and I love the shapes.  There is a lot going on in my life right now both wonderful and uncertain. I guess I've expressed it this way. The painting is 14x18 painted on a cradled wood panel with painted sides.

Chasing Venus- New Painting

Chasing Venus is my latest painting 16x20 on a cradled wood panel with painted sides.  If you notice I've blended a few of my favorite painter's works into this piece.  Botticelli, Matisse and Picasso.  I wanted to create a peaceful gentle setting.  Flowers, a deer, a mother and child and and the silent observing finch- life is good. .  Thanks for stopping by.  Available for sale on my website
