Expressive Tuesday-New small painting
I decided to complete a more painterly expressive piece today. I find it very therapeutic to apply paint with quick brush strokes and loose rendering. Call it "Expressive Tuesday" perhaps I will try this every Tuesday! This painting is 11x14 painted on stretched canvas and the sides are painted and it's wired and ready to hang. Thanks for stopping by available here: link the link below

Unexpected Visitor-New Work
"She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair..Norwegian Wood-The Beatles
I almost forgot to post this new piece here! Between FB and Etsy and Daily Painters and Tumblr it easy to forget my old fashion blog! It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Vermeer and his beautiful interiors. My sister mentioned to me that there is a new documentary film about his paintings from an engineering perspective which looks pretty fascinating. This painting is done on birch wood cradled panel the sides are painted and it's wired and ready to hang. People have been asking me the best way to purchase my work so I thought I'd explain it here:
You can purchase my original paintings directly through my personal website www.catherinenolin.org just click on the price and that will take you to pay pals.
You can also purchase most of my original paintings plus reproductions through my etsy site www.catherine47.etsy.com
I am also on Daily Painters where you can purchase my original paintings as well.

Art and Quote for today
- Henry David Thoreau
Last night on my way home from Boston I was driving under the horn bridge right near my home and a baby barn owl was just sitting in the middle of the road. I stomped on my breaks right it front of it. I thought it would fly away but it just stayed there. I love painting owls and had never seen one up close so this was amazing to me but I was also worried that it was hurt and the next person to come barreling down the road would not see it. It was so beautiful with huge black eyes and white and caramel colored feather. I drove around it and put my window down and as soon as I clapped my hands it flew away! I was so glad. What a treat.

Full Of Grace-My New Painting
This is my new painting just completed a few minutes ago that I'm pretty excited about. I decided to celebrate my love of old world renaissance art with this piece. The dog is a lovely lined Italian Greyhound. Mr. Fox decided to make an appearance as well. It's 16x20 painted on a cradled birch wood panel. Sides are painted and it's wired and ready to hang. Thank you for stopping by.
