Mothers and Daughters~New original painting

A Mother and Daughter themed painting is something  I have wanted to do since last Mother's Day.  Yes, Mother's Day is May12th.  Hopefully my sons will remember on their own but highly unlikely.

As I was working on this piece I very much enjoyed painting the pretty pink cake and flowers so you may see them make an appearance again .  There is a bowl of cherries on the side table there too. You can make up your own story about this painting.  It's 16x20 painted with acrylics on a cradled birch wood panel.  The sides are painted to match so it's ready to hang with or without a frame.

On my easel.....

This is what I 've been working on this week.  It's having to do with Mothers and daughters of course.  I am hoping to have it done tomorrow but it's hard to stay focused on Fridays especially.  The one good thing is that my son has my car in Boston over night so I can't leave the house! Can you  see the story in this painting.  Thanks for looking.

Theresa's Vignette~New Painting

Venus Of The Renaissance~ New work by Maxwell Nolin

This is Maxwell's newest painting.  He continues to be inspired by Italian Renaissance art but manages to add his own signature style. This piece is 20x24 painted on birch wood cradled panel.  It's for sale in my Etsy shop.  I told him he needs get his own shop!  His work is beautifully executed and the colors are gorgeous.

Boston

Every year for the past 10 years I have participated in the Beacon Hill Art Walk in Boston.   It's the only art show I still participate in.  The atmosphere, the people and setting make it such a unique day. In preparing my work this time around it's difficult to shake the sad feelings I have.  This was a painting I did three years ago with a Beacon Hill theme.  My heart goes out to the innocent victims and families.  

Queen Of Everything~New Work

I am so so excited about this newpainting! New Painting~Lonely Hearts Club

 Hannah doesn't realize how fortunate she really is.  This is my newest painting.  I have been wanting to paint a Dalmatian dog and also feature a Boston scene.  Back Bay is one of the prettiest areas in Boston.  I have included a Red Sox reference along with a few other familiar items. You can figure out the story here.   This piece is 11x14 painted with acrylics on a cradled birch wood panel.  For sale in my Etsy shop

Bernhard and Leo ~ Original Painting

This is a new painting done by my son Max who is turning 22 next week. He started painting in high school and went on to study  at the Museum School in Boston.   We are very excited about Max's evolution as a painter.  He has been home for a break before moving to Maine at the end of the month.  In that time, we have inspired and learned much from each other.  He has only just begun his painting career.  This beautiful painting is 18x24 painted on a cradled wood panel and   available for sale in my Etsy shop  www.catherine47.etsy.com
