SOLD Happy Spring ! Just completed this 18x24 painting. I really enjoyed creating this piece. I love the quote by Marcel Proust which inspired me to paint a renaissance style woman tending to her grand garden with her daughter helping in the background. I am working on another 18x24 canvas this week. I guess I am starting to think about spring and flowers finally. I must confess I love painting flowers but not gardening so much.
I love the quote by Marcel Proust
"Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Thank You.
I have a few charming gardeners in my life.

I have decided to do a more expressive style piece of an interior. I 've had an 18x24 stretched canvas staring at me, I mostly work on wood panels, but for this piece it's perfect. I am finding that painting quickly and without restriction can be very exciting as well as therapeutic.
I have three sons and my middle son Maxwell now 26 living in Brooks Maine has decided to give up organic farming for his true passion - Painting! He studied at the Museum School in Boston but then started an organic farm with his partner three years ago only to realize his true calling. I have shown and sold some of his early paintings of farm life. By chance he met a rather well known painter from Belfast who has agreed to mentor him and the results so far are amazing.
Zachary and Maxwell have decided to pursue careers in the Visual Arts or should I say , "The calling." Both of them have had wonderful opportunities and doors that have open . I am grateful for them and their gifts. Here are a few of Max's older pieces that I will make available in my etsy shop. Stay tuned for his new work . Done in 2015-2016

Completed on 3-21-2017. Pine Point is actually in Scarborough, Maine and extends for four miles along Saco Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. I spent the weekend in Cape Elizabeth the next town over. Three of my five sisters live there. It's a beautiful rugged area "Andrew Wyeth country." Anyway, I used a few new techniques and did lots of glazing which gives such lovely luminous depth as well. One of my more epic pieces. Gracie made her way into the chinoiserie bowl along with a Maine woodland creature. 16x20 on a cradled wood panel. Thanks for looking.

So glad I was able to complete this piece today since I am heading out to Maine for a family party tonight. It's 11x14 on a cardled wood panel with painted sides. I am quite pleased with my bunny sitter. I worked on making her with a renaissance appeal. The face reminds me of an opal and more lovely in person!

Completed on 3-3-2017 . 16x12 on a cradled wood panel with painted sides.
I was initially inspired by Rene Magritte's painting "Homage To Mack Sennett" 1934. I love many things about his work -Surrealism, use of furniture ,objects, and birds to name a few. I would like to think there are guardian angles out there living among us.
Thanks for looking. For sale on my website and etsy shop.

It wasn't until I actually photographed this piece that I noticed such a great energy about it. The vivid colors and motion . Thanks for looking.

Completed on 1-24-2017 A few years back I did a painting called Curtain Call also with a Polar Bear which seemed in step with our environmental status. I wanted to do another piece with a similar theme but a more classical feel. 16x12 on a cradled wood panel with painted sides.

I've been enjoying feeding the birds this winter. There are woodpeckers, finches, sparrows but my favorite are the little chickadees!

Completed on 1-13-2017 My morning ritual whenever possible is visiting all my favorite art blogs. I came across Vanessa Bell 's work who happened to be the sister of Virginia Woolf. I was so inspired reading about their lives and the Bloomsbury Group of artists, that I created a piece full of their imagery. I have a thing about sisters (since I five of them). My brother happens to be the writer in our family though!
I know I should have painted a "wolf" but foxes are my thing too. (:
Thanks for looking.
