Charlotte's Web

Well here it is as promised. Based on New York designer Charlotte Moss. She is not only an accomplished interior designer but she is also involved in many good causes, which interests me even more. I am quite pleased with the finished product. I sent her an image of the painting. I hope to hear from her soon. This piece is 11x14 done with acrylics on stretched cotton and linen. It will be for sale in my Etsy shop soon.

Bittersweet

In between my big projects, I love to work on some abstract things ~like this. Just a lovely flow of colors that glide across the page complimenting one another. This painting is 11x14 and the sides are also painted so no frame is needed. Available through my Etsy shop.

Back to Work and Yellow Lab Diva

As I was gathering up my tools and materials heading into my studio, I couldn't help taking this photo. She is something else. There was a time when she waited until we went out or up to bed before she would get up on the couches but not anymore. She looks right at me in a superior way at this point. Abbey is almost nine now. I really don't mind but it's the blonde hairs everywhere I hate having to vacuum every day. I guess it's a small price to pay for what we get in return. Long Live The Queen!

I get a lot of inspiration from art and interior design blogs. One of my favorite blogs did a profile on New Orleans designer Melissa Rufty. This is one of her many lovely interiors that I decided to paint. This particular designer combines color and pattern that I find fresh and interesting. Beautifully old world classic yet very now.

I think it would be fun to occasionally pick a designer and paint a room they have designed.

Here is my newest painting inspired by my love of bold pattern and color and of course cats. If you are wondering if my cat looks like this one, since I seem to paint this type of cat a lot, the answer is that I don't actually have a cat! I have had many felines over the years and striped tabby's are my favorite. I plan on getting another one some day but Abbey our yellow lab didn't do too well with Barney our last tiger cat. Barney took off when we brought Abbey home. My kids say they have actually seen him living in another neighborhood. He just couldn't handle a young goofy yellow lab puppy so he packed up and left. Now, I am afraid if I bring home a little crazy kitten , Abbey now 8 years old, will take off and move to another neighborhood. I can't have that.
