Summer reading II~My New Painting

The only  time I am happy that my studio is in my basement is the summer since it is naturally air conditioned.  I love to do  summer themed pieces.  I will be spending some time in Chatham  again this summer. My husband and I are not big beach people but we do love taking long drives and looking at all the gorgeous scenery and old majestic sea house.  The hydrangea and flowers are more vivid I think from the ocean atmosphere.  This painting is 12x16 painted on gallery wrapped stretched canvas.  The sides are painted so no frame is needed.  Wired and ready to hang.
Thanks for looking.

St. Catharine Academy, Bronx

I received an email a few months ago from an art teacher at  St. Catharine Academy, in the Bronx. The school was founded in 1889 by the Sisters of Mercy.  Deborah Ross, who is a Fine Arts Teacher there, told me that she has been using my paintings as inspiration for her students. I was totally flattered, honored and humbled to say the least.  Thank you .

Here is just some of their wonderful work!

Stopping By The Aloe Vera

I like the look of this beautiful dove and I have always admired the Aloe Vera plant and it's important uses from soothing burns to aiding in my son's ulcerative colitis.

This painting is 11x14 painted on stretched canvas with acrylics. Sides are painted so no frame is needed. It's wired and ready to hang.

Art and Quote for today~

"And the songbirds keep singing,
Like they know the score"  Fleetwood Mac-Songbird
I love that song btw.  Since my husband will be going to the Bruins game tonight, I am having a long day/night session in the studio.  It seems  lately I've had so much going on with Sam 's health that I haven't been able to really get lost in my work but today is the day! I'm happy and he's doing better.
This fine art print is available in my etsy shop.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/90872206/the-bird-watchers-fine-art-print?ref=shop_home_active I painted this piece in 2009.  It's still a favorite of mine. My new painting is about birds as well. Thanks for looking.

Beacon Hill Art Walk

Another fun but HOT day at the Beacon Hill Art Walk in Boston Sunday.  It's hard to believe it was my 12th year showing my work. It was great seeing so many supportive customers and friends.  As usually,  I am bursting with inspiration and so ready to get back into the studio!  This month, along with creating some new pieces, I will be working on  some very cool commissions as well.
Also be sure to check out my annual "Cleaning Out the Studio Sale"  On Etsy
